Even if this is made an option somewhere. If I am working a year behind, it is more work to have to change my date before entering each transaction.

Accountant would like to see the last date used to be remembered in the General Journal entry screen since it's an extra step to re-enter the date for each entry, especially when back dating for those transactions. Even if it's a functionality that you can opt-in for, they would like to have that feature.
