I have several invoices that make up one capital asset (bin purchase plus concrete/setup) but I can't see a way to combine them in one capital asset for my listing

Hi there, that's a common transaction for sure and there is a way to do it. How that should be accounted for is with an "In-progress construction" asset account. The way it work is that everything to do with building that new asset is recorded to the in-progress account and then once the project is complete, the value in that in-progress account is cleared out and offset against a new C+ line to record the new asset at it's calculated book value. This provides transparency, removes the taxes complication and ensures that the value of the new asset is correct and auditable. If you need any assistance working through the transaction flow for this type of entry, please do reach out to our support team at 1-800-667-7893.
