There are some users who would like to use the bank rec. feature but don't, because they are overwhelmed by the fact they have years of uncleared entries that carried forward, making it rather difficult to focus and filter thru every time. The current solution would be for them to check with their accountant and double check their balances first,select all the old entries, and then do a journal entry for the difference so that they can be cleared on an independent statement, and then readjust the bank opening balance for the year if necessary.
It could however save some users frustration and or having to call in for advice if there was an option where after X years you could select and archive the old entries without the need to clear them.
